Guns N' Roses: The Best Band of the 80's
Guns N' Roses Albums: From Appetite for Destruction to Chinese Democracy
Guns N' Roses were one of the biggest bands to come out of the 80's, and left a lasting impression upon the rock world that would leave its mark for decades to come. Without a doubt one of the best debut heavy metal/rock albums ever created, Appetite for Destruction was as rock n' roll as you could. Some compare them to The Rolling Stones, but the original lineup of GN'R was cut short due to in-band strife and some "creative differences."
While the rest of the band went on to create Velvet Revolver, solo projects, and reality TV shows, Axl Rose assembled a new band after McKagan left the band in 1997. Sole original member Axl Rose, plus Illusion-era member Dizzy Reed round out the original GN'R members on "Chinese Democracy" and subsequent concerts and recordings.
On this page, you can find out more about the band, vote for your favorite guitarists, and learn more about the band that inspired a billion kids to pick up a guitar and start their own garage band.

There aren't that many records to choose from, but what we do have from the band are absolute gold. Due to the lack of original recordings from the band in the 90's and beyond, compilations and live recordings have been released over the years. Axl, Slash, and Duff tried to block the release of the Greatest Hits collection, but their efforts were denied, and the hits collection was released in 2004.
What is your favorite Guns N' Roses album?
Are you more of a fan of the old school, classic lineup of Guns N' Roses? That would be any of the members before Chinese Democracy, namely Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Izzy Stradlin, Steven Adler, and later on, Gilby Clarke, Dizzy Reed, and Matt Sorum. Or, are you a fan of the newer lineup? Musicians in the newer lineup have included Axl Rose, Dizzy Reed, Buckethead, Robin Finck, Paul Tobias, Richard Fortus, Tommy Stinson, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, Bryan Mantia, Chris Pitman, and Frank Ferrer.

My Appetite for Destruction - The Steven Adler Autobiography
A clean and sober Steven Adler, thanks in part to Dr. Drew Pinsky, vents in his 2010 book My Appetite for Destruction. Whether the band is irritated at his version of the story or not, Steven tells all, from his lowest lows of drug abuse to the high of highs (literally), to the humiliation of Axl firing him from the band live on MTV for millions to see. If you've ever truly wondered how rock n' roll excess can play out, then read Steven's story. It's a far different take on the band than Slash's autobiography.
