I don't know about 3D, but Blu-Ray for sure - my second-favorite Disney film behind Beauty and the Beast. It looks like Disney isn't stopping there, either - Dumbo and The Fox and the Hound are also coming this year per http://www.filmcrave.com/dvd_new.php

The Lion King is one of my favorite movies and favorite productions too. The music is fabulous! I think it would be wonderful to see this one in 3D!

The Lion King should be magnificent in 3D, and I'm not usually a 3D fan. I'd actually consider paying to go to the movies to see it. Should be an interesting release. I won't even mind the commercials on TV with the wonderful Lion King music!
