The film is set in Vietnam, year 1969. Captain Willard receives a top-secret order to look for and execute Colonel Kurtz, a renegade officer who has formed his own army within the depths of the jungle. As soon as setting foot in the jungle, Willard soon realizes that he is enveloped in a mysterious atmosphere. One by one, his crew turns to drugs and gets killed by the enemies. As Willard spends more time in the jungle, the more he understands what happened to Kurtz and soon becomes more like him.


6. Full Metal Jacket

Full Metal Jacket is a war movie based on the novel The Short-Timers by Gustav Hasford. It is divided into two segments. The first features the story of new recruits of the U.S. Marines under Gunnery Sergeant Hartman. Hartman is known for his ruthless style, and the overweight Gomer Pyle often gets punished for his inability to follow the commander. He then turns into a model Marine with the help of Joker, but Pyle soon shows signs of mental instability and eventually kills Hartman and commits suicide. The second segment follows Joker and his comrades during the Tet Offensive of the Vietnam War.

Two Black Hawk helicopters were destroyed, eliminating their chance to escape. The film details the collective effort of the Rangers as they try to get to the helicopters and call for rescue.

Chris Taylor gets assigned in Vietnam in 1967. He finds it difficult to get along with the rest of his platoon at first, but after engaging in combat, he starts to become cohesive with his unit. Chris now has to deal with the internal conflict as well as survive the harsh battlefield of the Southeast.
