Naruto FIller List

Updated on September 15, 2013

Naruto filler list

List of all Naruto and Naruto Shippuden fillers by now. Here are listed all Naruto filler episodes. Also there is a list of fillers worth watching and a little about those fillers. Of course, there is an intro module for filler explanation. There is as well, a module with some video clips from the Naruto and Naruto Shippuden filler episodes.

About fillers

Hi all Naruto fans! This is a list of all Naruto and Naruto Shippuden filler episodes, for those of you who like them and for the ones who hate them and only want to watch the real storyline (like me).

So, as you may now, the anime and its episodes are created based on Naruto manga series. The so-called fillers are the episodes that were made up, they didn't really happen in manga, and as such they are insignificant to the Naruto series. You may ask why they make fillers then? Well, the manga and the anime go out once a week. But, since the anime lasts about 20 minutes, while the manga has about 20 pages, one anime can "tell" the story of about two mangas. So, even considering that manga started going out before anime, the anime eventually catches up with the most recent manga. That's when they start publishing filler episodes instead of waiting a few weeks to publish the "real" episode. And besides, there are some fillers which are interesting and closely related with the storyline and as such they complement the story in a nice way, like the Exstensions to the War Arc. So, lots of people also watch and enjoy filler episodes.

But now, let's go back to the list of filler episodes and say which of them are worth watching!

FIllers worth watching

Naruto series

Before reading this section you should know that it contains some spoiler material, so think thoroughly if you're going to read it.

Land of Tea Arc episodes 101-106

The first FIllers Arc and the first one that is useful to watch, even Kishimoto helped in making of it. So, let's say a few things about this arc. Since Konoha was weakened after Orochimaru's attack, they were forced to send lower level ninjas to difficult missions. So, Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura got a mission to go to the Land of Tea and escort Idate Morino in a dangerous annual race between rival families - Wasabi and Wagarashi. The race is traditionally organized every year with no incidents, but this time Wagarashi family hired ninjas to sabotage the member of Wasabi family. That's why Wasabi family assigned Team 7 to safely escort Idate during the race. During this filler a lot of things happen, including Idate's story who was once a Konoha genin, and it culminates in Naruto and Sasuke's fight against Aoi.

This filler is useful because it happens after Sasuke's loss to Itachi who told him that he lacks hatred. In this arc Sasuke losses to Aoi which increases his will to leave Konoha and seek Orochimaru for strength.

This filler's episodes:

Episode 102 - Mission: Help an Old Friend in the Land of Tea

Episode 103 - The Race is On! Trouble on the High Seas!

Episode 104 - Run Idate Run! Nagi Island Awaits!

Episode 105 - A Fierce Battle of Rolling Thunder!

Episode 106 - The Last Leg: A Final Act of Desperation

Land of Rice Fields Arc episodes 137-140

This arc is almost a natural extension of previous episodes. After the fight against Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura want to try once more to go and save Sasuke from Orochimaru. At the village's exit, they meet Jiraiya who helps them in their intentions and also saves them from being labelled as missing-nins because they want to leave the village alone. The three of them then go to the Land of Fire to gather the information about Orochimaru's plan and of course search for Sasuke.

This filler's episodes:

Episode 137 - A Town of Outlaws, The Shadow of the Fuuma Clan

Episode 138 - Pure Betrayal and a Fleeting Plea

Episode 139 - Pure Terror! The House of Orochimaru!

Episode 140 - Two Heartbeats: Kabuto's Trap

Naruto Shippuden series

Episodes 92 and 112

The Three-Tails Arc(090-112) itself isn't so important and interesting, but these two episodes are partially fillers, so you should watch them, especially 112 because it's important for upcoming arc.

Tsuchigumo Kinjutsu Arc episodes 144-151

The filler mentions the character Utakata, the Jinchuuriki of the Six-Tails, who appears in manga, and it's kind of a short filler so you can watch it. The fillers talks about bond between Utakata and his student Hotaru and also something about Utakata's past. Naruto, Sai and Yamato also appear in this filler arc.

History of Konoha Arc episodes 176-196

This arc is inconsistent with the story, it follows Team 7 adventures from the Naruto series. However it contains some important material from manga which should be seen. It contains flashbacks of some characters, including Iruka and Kakashi who remembers the time when he was appointed as Team 7 leader, so we can see that segment from his viewpoint. So, if you want to find out some information on Konoha and it's history, you can watch this filler. Here are the episodes you should watch: 176-181. Besides this, episodes 182-196 are really insignificant episodes which you don't need to watch, but some of them are also interesting and cool, so you can see them as well if you're bored.

That's about it. And yes, a little about those Shinobi World War Fillers. They are really not important and have nothing to do with the manga, but some of them are really interesting to watch because they are like an extension to the Shinobi War which seems rushed up a bit. So, with these filler episodes you may get a better battle experience and enjoy more war episodes, especially if you like a lot of fighting and action. Besides that, I would recommend everyone to watch Deidara's filler episode - The Artist's Aesthetics.

Video clips from fillers

Here are some video clips from diffferent fillers. Again, this is a spoiler material, so don't watch it unless you are absolutely sure that you want to watch it.

Video's name says everything. This is the compilation of Rasengan's from fillers in original Naruto series. Enjoy!

And this is the trailer for one of Naruto Shippuden fillers - Chikara power. You can see more about Kabuto in this one.
