Disney Pinocchio-My Favorite Disney Animated Movie
Ever since I can remember, I have loved Pinocchio, first as a beloved book and then as a Disney Movie. I was the third of four children, and many of my childhood possessions were hand-me-downs from my older brother and sister. When they were children, they were the first little ones to enter our extended family for decades. So I had some of the best hardcover books from their childhood.
The one that stands out in my mind was Pinocchio; it was a large book with an orange cover in the library. It had large color pictures that still stand out in my mind. The book was about 100 pages and was one that I read or should I say looked at the images most every day. Since it was so long when the book was read, it was done in chapters.
My Other Favorites - Beauty and the Beast
Disney constructed the most captivating love tale ever told when a young princess sees through a beast and breaks all preconceived notions about love. It is a story of a young, selfish prince Adam. A mysterious sorceress curses him have the arrival of a hideous beast. The only way to break the hex is to love a young girl and make her love himself. The beast gets his opportunity when a youthful girl called Belle proposes to take the place of her unwell father, Maurice as a jailbird. The entire entourage of the palace is also captivated, which helps the girl appreciate the beast. She soon slips in love with the beast, and the story begins. Nevertheless, in the town, crooked hunter Gaston has evil plans for Belle. A live-action version of the film was unleashed in 2017, starring stunning Emma Watson.
Watch it at Home or in the Theater
When the Pinocchio Movie by Disney was finally shown on television, I saw it on The Wonderful World of Disney on CBS. Walt Disney was the program host, showing how animations were done, the building of Disneyland, and finally, Disney World. I learned how animation worked and even tried to do it myself. My father taught me how to do a simple animation of the edge of a notepad. I was amazed at how it worked.
Every Sunday evening, we watched Disney on TV, which often included actual movies like The Three Musketeers, Old Yeller, and the like. But it was the animation I was interested in, and I sat intently focused on anything animated once I discovered it was done by hand. I was truly fascinated and wanted to become an animator. Although I have never done it as a teacher, I have created PowerPoint animations for my students.
Pinocchio is a beloved story teaching children the consequences of telling a lie!
