Sara Brightman - Diva
The 56-year-old English classical crossover soprano, actress, songwriter, and dancer, the world's biggest selling soprano, "is an international superstar as beloved for her staggering vocal range (over three full octaves) as for her impassioned film and stage performances."
Brightman, one of the best singers of our time, is credited with pioneering "the so-called classical crossover genre." She has an illustrious past starring in Andrew Lloyd Webber productions on Broadway with shows like Phantom of the Opera and Cats. You will see the videos of some of her performances on this page.
She is the first artist to have been invited to perform at two Olympic games, first at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and in Beijing to an estimated four billion people, worldwide. The operatic pop star has 11 albums, the latest being Dreamchaser, an album centered on her interest in the heavens.
"Brightman now directs her goals even higher."
It is her intention to visit the International Space Station in 2015. "She is a part of a three-person crew travelling to the International Space Station on board a Soyuz rocket. Once on the ISS she intends to become the first professional musician to sing from space!"
Sarah Brightman is one of the best singers of our time, and if you can see her live, I encourage you to...[after this tour] It will be awhile again before Brightman comes back, but she's left the stars in our eyes and ears.
