In 7th grade I was so excited when one of his comedy specials was going to be on. I later listened to two of the albums so much that I literally had them memorized verbatim, though I only got some of the jokes years later.

Nice video showcase lens of a very talented man.

A real funny guy! I liked "Father of the Bride" and the scene in the grocery store where he takes the (is it hotdog or hamburger) rolls out of the bag.

      Great Lens!

One of my favorite Steve Martin moments was a skit on TV which started off with Steve on top of a stair case on a stage. It starts off pretty serious as he begins singing "I can see clearly now" then he walks into a low hanging chandelier as he descends the stair case.

The Jerk and The Three Amigos are some of my favorite movies. My wife also loves him as the father of the bride.

I just finished Born Standing Up. I'm not old enough to have really followed his career, but I enjoyed his memoir. This book is funny, too, in an understated way, and he's insightful about his development as a comedian and the way people responded to him. His very early days performing at Knott's Berry Farm were also interesting and showed his drive as a young boy. Worth reading.

This brings back a lot of memories. Has any one read Steve's new book on his performing years. It's a quick read, but a classic.

I agree with rms, his dancing has always been a scream. Please add a King Tut video!!! Dance Like an Egyptian. And then there was the SNL episode where he and Gilda Radner were dancing around the studio. That last was probably my all time favorite. I think it's on one of the SNL DVDs that are available. Thanks for the lens. Terrific!
