Steven Curtis Chapman - Heaven in the Real World
Heaven in the Real World Released July 5, 1994. And yes world I still have it on cassette. At least its not on 8-track of which I still have a few. If it wasn't for that my kids would not know what 8-tracks were.
Do you ever think when you purchase something that it will last for 20 years. Or that the artist on the cassette you are buying will still be around in 20 years. I know that there is the popular one hit wonders and the TV shows with where are they now... But they can't say that about Steven Curtis Chapman. He has been around more than 20 years and is still going strong. Writing songs and sharing them with the world. And through those songs he is able to share his faith in God.
There are 13 songs on this album. The first two are shared down below with videos. But there are a couple of others that I have also enjoyed and will be sharing them with you here. In word not in song.
The first is Burn the Ships. For those of you that like history than this one is for you. Cortes from Spain and his ships set sail in 1519 for the new world. Even thought not everyone was up to the challenge they soon would be. As Cortes had the ships burned so there would be nowhere to go but forward. The old saying - no turning back now is very appropriate with this song. From the song - Burn the Ships, Were Here to Stay is as true in Cortes time as it is today. Just like the song it brings you from his time to now. By faith you can go forward. That is true both in this song and in your life.
The second song is Dancing with the Dinosaurs. I admit I have fun with dinosaurs. And the one I dance with is not a dinosaur. But seriously this has always been a fun song to listen to. Unlike the previous song I have not dug into the song. Its just one to have fun with. Because with most music it is always nice to enjoy what you are listening to.
So as I stated earlier when you find someone that is able to inspire the world with music for over 20 years it is worth listening to. So please take a few moments and listen to the songs below and then let me know which is your favorite in poll right below them.
If you enjoy listening to Steven Curtis Chapman may I suggest a little more of his works to add to your collection.
You have seen the music to choose from now here are a few videos to help you decide which one is on the top of your list.
