Synth Single Review: “ASTRIDs Demise’’ by Neon Shards

Neon Shards’ ASTRID's Demise creates feelings of epic planetary adventure. The music opens as a portentous kick drum thuds and a powerfully radiant synth blazes into life. Neon Shards’ guitar rips into the music with towering strength and deep emotion as the low end throbs with intimidating force. A trumpeting synth flares with dynamism while the guitar growls with threatening strength above the propulsive drum and bass heartbeat.

Twinkling chimes mingle tension and delicacy as the kick drum continues to punch. Peaceful tenderness touches the bright chimes as they descend above the heavy low end. The contrast of gentleness and tremendous power is well done here. I do enjoy the cover art but would love to see an artist’s talents used.

Neon Shards’ guitar carries a melody that flies with inspiring emotion and massive muscle, climbing and surging with real strength. The refulgent synth cries out with supernova illumination as the delicate notes twirl above it. The low end presses on as the coruscating synth glows and the track ends.
