Synth Single Review: “Crime Wave’’ by Mission 87
Mission 87’s Crime Wave moves through tranquility to tension as it evolves. The track opens with intense weight moving beneath flickers of brightness. The bass is a gigantic force as prismatic notes tremble and panpipes levitate with breathy serenity. As the drifting notes glide, the bass settles below while drums impact with seismic vibration. The melody slipping from the panpipes exhales in a long breath while percussion shudders and the bass flows.
I am drifting on the panpipes in a state of bliss while contrasting percussive bursts punch me in the gut. Brassy notes gleam with ferocious light and the rhythm is propulsive, while a coiling synth carries the dynamically exciting melody, lifting my adrenaline levels. Bells exude dawn light while the pulsation below is irresistible, charging forward.
The main melody cries out in fluid tones, adding dramatic tension while the music’s foundation is a battering rhythm. The guitar cuts in with a tempestuous solo that contributes leaping muscle and enigmatic darkness before a keyboard slices with razor tones, transmitting danger as the music concludes.
