Synth Single Review: “EUPHORIA’’ by Stacy Gabriel
Stacy Gabriel’s EUPHORIA rushes on a complex emotional tide. The song begins with pacific tones drifting with purple light above calming synth clouds. A smoothly guiding drum beat is joined by Stacy Gabriel’s breath-warmed voice and sparkling notes that glow with bliss.
The chorus carries a wistful message while the sharply gleaming synth exudes a blue-sky feeling. As the vocal melody tinges the song's atmosphere with ache, the rhythm guides it slowly and a slipping tonal pattern glimmers with moonlight.
A flickering synth trickles gracefully before elevated sounds call out with clean energy to carry the gentling melody. I am drawn to the emotion within the vocal performance as a bell-like synth floats and Stacy Gabriel delivers an affecting performance. The main melody is radiant with warmth as it courses out over the pattering beat, and luminous tones suffuse the music.
His “mind and body are weightless,” as the narrator says you can’t even chase it, so “don’t analyze.” He points out that time “stands still for no one, so I guess I’m a no one, don’t even try.”
When something feels as good as what the storyteller is experiencing, you don’t want to “fuck it up.” When it feels as good as it does, he asks, “is it real euphoria?”
“Life flows through my mainframe,” he adds, but admits, “this can’t be the same brain, you bring me down.” He wonders why life is so ruthless and confesses, “don’t know why you do this, knees on the ground.”
