Synth Single Review: “Ghost Protocol’’ by Synth Principal, LXST Child & Out Runner
Synth Principal, LXST Child & Out Runner’s Ghost Protocol is veined with ache as it evolves. The track starts as forcefully swelling bass shifts underneath slowly vibrating, scraping notes and a synth that floats with misty smoothness. Slowly descending, mournful pulses roam out as the percussive motion below adds form.
Now the drums and bass interlock while the guitar charges with fierce strength and the main melody, full of broken emotion, is carried on a sharply glimmering synth. All of the collaborative artists bring their own unique feeling to this track.
The drums drop away and the rhythm fades as softly slipping sounds trail spectrally, and Out Runner’s guitar weaves a tapestry of hurt, howling like a wandering spirit as the beat accelerates again. The underpinning guitar snarls purposefully as the main melody shines with disembodied brightness, filling me with loss and ache.
Once again, Out Runner’s guitar is suffused with longing and passion, interweaving with deep expression. As the guitar drops away, utter glassy fragility carries the song into quiet.
