Synth Single Review: “Love’’ by Lucy Dreams
Lucy Dreams’ Love explores an intense emotional connection as it unfolds. The lead singer's voice calls out above the pulsing low end. The lead singer’s voice has a chanting quality as it moves in bursts above the throbbing drums and deep bass.
Ethereal sounds float through the music while string-like ripples, broad and echoing, flow past. There's a lightly touching quality to the lyrics as the vocalist expresses them. The bass is colossal and flowing as the drums swing while intertwining synth notes dance out in a steady motion.
The vocals have a gentle quality as the piano twinkles through. There's a flaring sound with a metallic quality that evenly pulses as the vocals gently drift. The piano adds sparkling accents while the rippling, rounded synth trips through the music.
Our storyteller says that love is “a blueprint in your eyes” as well as an undisguised truth and a “dream disguise.” He talks about seeing a window into the song's subject's heart, adding that their soft gaze is like an artwork. He says that he'll be loving the other person forever.
The narrator asks the other person to take a chance and he'll take them to "where the echoes sing our song” and the future continues to roll along. He asks the song’s subject to listen to him speak and realize what's being said. He tells them to read his mind and “gently wax a seal of love.”
Our storyteller wants the other person to hear his song and lead him to a place in which the “shadows that we cast are the image of our past.” They lie skin to skin as their touch is “taking moments in.” He concludes, “I'll be forever true to you and I know that you'll be too."
