Synth Single Review: “Manta Ray’’ by Lübro
- Manta Ray | Lübro
Manta Ray by Lübro, released 19 July 2025
Lübro’s Manta Ray weaves images of free swimming and wide-open possibilities. The track starts as a smoothly slipping synth drifts in languorous waves while rich bass swells beneath it, growing into a strong flow. A radiant, shimmering synth carries a melody that is calming and full of silky glide as the bass rises up and colossal drums jump into a propulsive rhythm.
The nasal-sounding, luminous synth carries a cascading, frolicking melody that spins with joyful ease. The gigantic bass sweeps past in an aquatic flow, imbuing me with a sense of meditative serenity. Arpeggios ripple in delicate motion as the heavy bass throbs and the main melody is carried on a gently warming synth, sailing out like a manta ray gliding through open ocean. The frolicking melody skips through the music with a sense of freedom and unbridled positivity as the low end drives.
The drums fade away as luscious bass rumbles and the brilliant synth chords pour out light while tender arpeggios swirl past. A tambourine-like shaking adds metallic notes as the luminous synth calls out in an extended, sliding line before the drums drive again. The main melody twirls and dances like the manta ray described by the track, swimming free in the depths, peace flowing throughout the sonic layers. The track ends on glistening notes and deeply flowing bass.
