Heartbreak City’s Run To You ignites with fierce desire. The song begins with Aled Rhys Evans’ glowing synth shining along with bright guitar and a throbbing rhythm. The guitar flows with a caressing melody, uplifting and smooth, while Jon Lilygreen’s chocolatey voice glides with seductive warmth. Daniel Newberry’s sax adds dynamism as drums anchor the song and the luminous synth gleams above it all. Toby Davy ties the sonic layers together with deft precision.

I’m drawn to the playful character of Jon Lilygreen’s delivery as the sax cascades and chiming notes scatter radiance. As voices entwine, Daniel Newberry’s sax unfurls with heartfelt emotion. The rhythm presses forward, tones shimmer and the sax cries out with ardent passion.

When the percussion eases away, the music shifts into a satin passage, vocals lifting high before Jon Lilygreen’s guitar solo rises with yearning strength. The song’s drive becomes urgent as voices harmonize in lush layers. The sax soars again and the guitar cleaves through with bright uplift before the track closes in sudden quiet.

The narrator suggests taking "a ride way down to Mexico or anywhere you wanna go." They come alive at night because "with you, I see the light." He describes the other as his kind of crazy, "a live wire lady," adding, "Never tell me that you ain't coming through."

Our storyteller asks the subject to promise that if he’s her dirty little secret, she’ll keep it. He wonders why "every little thing you do" makes him run back to her. He goes on: "Your ruby lips are whispering a million thoughts and I can't help but fantasize about you and the skinny jeans you're telling me that you ain't keeping on." He adds that they belong naked.

"Right outta the '80s, my live wire lady," he says, adding, "my Van Halen shirt looks so good on you." Again, he insists, "If I'm your dirty secret, just promise me you'll keep it," while musing why he always runs back.

Now our storyteller asks, "Oh why does every little thing you say make everything feel okay?" He’s mesmerized by the way she walks and how her hair moves. "Just get me close to that body, babe, and I ain't going nowhere."
