Synth Single Review: “So Close (Spiraling)’’ by Wellside
Wellside’s So Close (Spiraling) transmits chilled-out vibes as it evolves. The track starts as the static background is filled with an increasingly open-sounding synth that swells while a sharper-toned melody drifts with jazzy insouciance. As the rhythm undulates heavily, deeply filling the low end, a ticking beat adds sharp guidance while sweeping sounds grow.
The choppy background synth pattern flickers with muted light as the main melody slips with velvety delicacy and the undergirding throb adds snapping motion. A round-toned synth pulses in nasal bursts before ethereal notes slide through the music, suffused with gentleness.
A trumpeting melody echoes with free-flowing expression while the background exhales with soft airiness. Elevated, widely flashing synth carries an energizing melodic pattern, lifting me with it. The beat subdivides and crashes in again, adding massive weight, while the higher synth loops with unrestrained dynamism.
Once again, the tightly nasal notes cut in with frolicking motion while the background synth twirls with liberation. A delicate synth carries a meditative pattern, full of smoothness, before silence falls.
