Ten Movies to See Before You Die

Updated on October 16, 2014

These Are Some of My Favorites!

They might not be yours, but I am going to tell you why you should see them. I am sure everyone will get at least one movie great out of this list. I am sharing some inspiring and entertaining movies for me personally, and hope to turn some of you onto them so you can enjoy them just as much as I did!

The Notebook - Even If You Are A Guy & Have Ever Been In Love!

The Notebook will remind you of your first love affair as a teenager or a young adult. It will take you right back there to all that emotion. It brings back memories of the intensity of your first love and how vivid the memory still can be when stirred.

Take note, I cried my eyes out! It was intense, beautiful, happy, and sad all at the same time!

The Notebook - Kiss In The Rain Scene!

Sometimes circumstances keep us apart and things happen for a reason, but oh does the passion brew in that timetable!

Beaches - Grab Your Best Friend & The Kleenex!

For anybody (ladies) who has ever had a lifelong best friend, this one is for you. You will laugh, you will cry, but most of all, you will relate! This is the tale of two women who are polar opposites, but truly understand and love one another as best friends. They fight, they cry, they have good times and bad, but they always remain friends in the end!

Beaches - Friendship Forever

Sometimes your polar opposite can become your best friend. You might fight, but its this polarity that binds you!

Pulp Fiction - One of Quentin Tarintino's Jewels!

This movie is strange, fragmented, and great! It will keep your interest, and you will love the diverse characters. Even the bad guys, which is most of the people in this film have a good nature for the most part. They are everyday people who do illegal things for a living, but it doesn't enter their private life. The scenarios in this film are interesting and hysterical. Its weirdness, action, and dark comedy. Quentin Tarantino is the master of cinema. He is sarcastic and creative. I love him!

Vincent Vega & Mia Wallace Dance - This Part is Great!

We all want to see John Travolta dance in every single movie. You know you do! You get to see Uma Thurman dance, too. There is a strange chemistry between the two characters, one of which is married to the other's boss, a very large, powerful, and scary man portrayed by Ving Rames.

Kill Bill - Another of Quentin's Best Works!

There are two volumes. I love the way he mixes cartoon, real action karate film, and a tale of revenge. Its got humor, surprises, adventure, and crazy plot twists. This is action at its best mixed with humor and a little bit of melancholy. You may not expect the way it ends, though. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, that's all I have to say about that!

Beatrix Meets Her Master - Pei Mei Trains Beatrix

He is grouchy, he is mean, and he is old, but he kicks her butt time and time again, and she grows to love and respect him as a teacher and as a warrior!

A Tale of Two Sisters - Scary Japanese Film - The Best One I Ever Saw!

I usually have difficulty enveloping myself in a film with subtitles. This film was truly amazing. It was terrifying in the way movies used to be when you didn't see any special effects, but you knew something sinister was going on. It plays tricks on the mind, and you never know what twists and turns lie around the next corner. I am not one to scare easy, but I had to turn on all the lights to go to bed the night I watched this, alone, might I add! Sisters stick together, but like this, its a crazy plot. You will just have to see it for yourself.

A Tale of Two Sisters - Weird and Creepy Dinner Scene

At this point, I decided I had absolutely no idea what's going on. You won't either, not for a while. This movie might be subtitled, but trust me, if you are in the mood to read subtitles, it will grasp your interest, and leave you on the edge of your seat!

Twilight - I'm Not Even Kidding

Okay, Twilight, the first one, not the sequels. You may want to read the book first, because it adds to the experience. You are really going to want to see what the characters look like and you will share their pain, and their love and longing. This movie is beautiful, because it is two people who are truly in love. Its a love at first sight type of thing going on. This movie made me want to fall in love, and if I ever find somebody that looks like Robert Pattinson, I can say holy cow, I am sure I will, really, watch it!

Twilight - The Kissing Scene!

I was so psyched right about here. It would normally be very creepy to find a man in your room, but if it was Edward, I might be ok with that. It also may be kind of creepy to have a man watch you sleep, but in this case, its hot, hot, hot!

She-Devil - Hysterical!

You will die laughing as Roseanne, a less than attractive, middle aged housewife tries to get her husband back for cheating on her while still reaping an awesome revenge. This is a film about women's unity, and people getting exactly what they deserve! Its a gut buster!

Ruth is Kicking Butts - And She's Taking Names!

Ruth gets revenge on her two-timing husband. She realizes in the process that she wants to get even, but Bob is nothing without her!

Death Becomes Her - Be Careful What You Wish For, You Just Might Get It!

Two women feud for years over a man taken from one of the girls. These two women despise one another and exchange cruelties back and forth, but a twist of fate makes it so they have to learn to live together, perhaps forever. Sometimes the best revenge is growing old gracefully. This film will have you peeing your pants laughing!

Death Becomes Her - Staying Young Forever

Madeline and Helen go the extra mile to stay young forever!

Gia - Angelina Jolie Portrays Gia - The 80's Supermodel

Gia is a tough girl from Philadelphia. She is beautiful, spirited, and sometimes very happy. She also develops a serious heroin habit. Her problems run deep, and she has difficulty living life. She is openly gay in the early 80's. She is a free spirit swinging back and forth from a funloving childlike friend to a hardcore drug addict you don't even want in your hours. It seems she is never understood, but people close to her love her anyway. Gia died in the eighties of AIDS. She was one of the first women in the public eye to die of the disease.

Gia Takes No Crap - G....I.....A

Gia has an appointment, and you better not keep her waiting.

The Basketball Diaries - A Tale of Wasted Talent & Survival

Jim Caroll is a talented high school basketball player and an aspiring writer. He attends Catholic school in New York and lives with his mom. This story depicts the life of a real person who just recently passed away from a heart attack at the age of 60. He was a writer and a musician. He penned the book The Basketball Diaries and several other works. He led an interesting life on and off the streets of New York surrounded by colorful and inspiring characters. This is why his books and literary pieces are so interesting. This story chronicles his teen and early manhood when he descended into the downward spiral of heroin addiction. He is portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio, who looks like he could be his son, although we know he isn't.

The Basketball Diaries - Jim Carroll

Jim Caroll leads a crazy life on the streets of New York. This breeds talent, and an unbridled free-spirited intelligent young man. Unfortunately, this has its downfalls.

Amazon Movies - And Books & Other Random Stuff

I have scoured Amazon looking for these titles and things related. If you are looking to have a movie night, here is a good source to find this stuff very cheap!
