The Smurfs History
The Smurfs - 1980's Version
The Smurfs are a group of small little creatures that are blue and wear nothing but white hats and pants. Each Smurf represents something that they are strong in. The Smurfs have been a part of our pop culture lives for decades now and they have went the way of their other 80s cartoon buddies, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and recently been blessed with having their own live movie. I'm sure that the 2011 Smurfs are a great experience for the kids and fun for them to watch, but let's not forget the ones us 80s kids have grown to know and love. Though the 2011 Smurfs do have a handful or two of different kinds, the 80s version have quadruple amount as compared to the current ones. I want to take us back down to memory lane a show some love to the original ones.
Papa Smurf is the head leader of the Smurfs and they all look up to him as one. Though they all wear white, Papa Smurf wears all red. He’s probably the wises one out the bunch where whenever The Smurfs are in trouble, he’s always there to save them in the nick of time.
Smurfette is probably the most prettiest Smurf in the entire village. With her long blonde hair. Smurfette makes all of the male Smurfs go goo goo, gaga over her. She’s always looking good and you’ll rarely see her upset. She’s like the First Lady of the Smurf village.
You need a roof fixed or need something put together in the village then the only man for the job is Handy Smurf. He’s always on the job with his tools handy all the time.
If there is a job where it requires lifting up heavy materials, then Hefty Smurf is the Smurf to do it. He is by all means the most powerful Smurf out of the bunch and the only one that has a tattoo.
Brainy Smurf is the one who may have all the brains, but always tend to talk more that he’s supposed to. Whenever he speaks more than what he’s supposed to, he always end up flying in the air and crashing down on his head and his glasses cracked.
Baby Smurf is just the cutest Smurf around and also the smallest one as well. He is so innocent and never does wrong. Always have the rest of the Smurfs watching over him. Esprecially Papa Smurf and Smurfette.
Greedy Smurf is the best Smurf chef that they have, but he also can’t resist but to eat his own creations. With Greedy, you’ll have to hurry up on a first come, first serve basis or else he’ll have no problem eating it.
Grouchy Smurf’s name says it all. He’s always negative and is always angry. He hates just about anything and will tell you too. If you want a comment or a compliment, the last Smurf you would want to go to is Grouchy because he hates comment and compliments.
Jokey Smurf always has fun laughing at his own jokes. He always carries this gift box. But be careful for when you open it, you’ll get a very loud surprise and the only one laughing at the end will be Jokey.
Lazy Smurf is probably the laziest Smurf in the village. If there’s a pillow and a bed close by, you best be sure that Lazy will be in it sleeping. He’ll hibernate all year long if he wanted to.
Whenever you hear someone take a tumble or saying something off beat, then you know that Clumsy Smurf is not too far behind. Ironically, one of his best friends is Brainy Smurf. Probably because Clumsy makes him look good and that Clumsy is the only one that can tolerate him.
How else would the Smurfs eat healthy if they didn’t have Farmer Smurf around to plant all the seeds to create the best fruits and vegetables around. It’s his specialty and if he had the opportunity to do his farming all day long, he would too.
You have Papa Smurf and then you have the older and wiser Grandpa Smurf. He’s the oldest living Smurf in the village and can tell the youngsters a thing or two on how it was back when he was a young Smurf.
The Smurflings are a bunch of four kid Smurfs who are younger than the regular Smurfs, but are older than Baby Smurf. They tend to get into trouble sometimes and tend to wander off and do their own thing.
Nanny Smurf is the grandma of all Smurfs. She especially pays close attention to the Smurflings as she knows that they need as much guidance as possible while the other Smurfs tend to keep busy doing what they all do best.
