The Notebook, A Must See!
If you haven't seen this movie, it is definitely a must see! Women love this movie, which makes this a great date night movie! Guys if you are looking to score some huge points with a girl you really like this is the movie for you.
The Notebook is a beautiful, romantic drama, based on the novel The Notebook, written by Nicholas Sparks. The main characters, Allie Hamilton, played by Rachel McAdams, and Noah Calhoun, played by Ryan Gosling, are two teens who meet one summer at a carnival in Seabrook Island, South Carolina. The two young lovebirds come from very different worlds. Noah is a country boy that lives a very modest life. Allie well educated. She comes from a very wealthy family and her parents are very involved in all the decisions she makes.
One summer night, Noah takes Allie and shows her his dream home, a run down Estate that he one day hope to buy and fix up for her. Allie's parents quickly step in and the two young lovebirds end up being separated. Allie goes off to college. Noah enlists and goes off to war. They are separated with time and distance and their lives go on, without each other.
Noah returns from the war and buys the property of his dreams and puts everything he has into keeping his promise to Allie. He restores the home in hopes that she will return to him. Allie, however, is engaged to be married to a very wealthy suitor. One day Allie sees a picture of Noah and the home he has restored in the newspaper. She immediately starts to wonder what life would be like with Noah.
One of the things I really enjoy about this story is how the character Noah goes and prepares a place for Allie, just like he promised. It reminds me so much of the pure love of my Savior. We all want someone to love us unconditionally. We all want a love that lasts forever. This movie really shows a love that stretches beyond all space and time.
