The Wii

Updated on March 24, 2015

Family Fun for all ages

Why Wii? Because it is fun!

Wii can be played by people of all ages, from the youngest child to grandpa and grandma. Wii is just plain FUN. Now for those of you who don't know what Wii is....Wii is a gaming system that hooks to your television set. It can be played by one or more players (the more the merrier) and is very easy to hook up.

First you need to purchase the Wii console ( now in your choice of black or white ) which usually includes the Wii remote, the Wii nunchuk, and the Wii Sports Resort video game. There is a new limited edition of the Wii console in red that includes the Wii remote, Wii nunchuk, Wii Sports video game and the New super Mario Brothers video game. I just love to say nunchuk!

The remote and the nunchuk are what you hold in your hand to make the video game inter-active. You can play these games with several players and all you need is the one remote and the one nunchuk. They can be programed for several players. However, it is very nice to have several remotes and several nunchuks so that you are not passing these around as you play and each player has their own.

Want to spend time laughing with your grandchildren? Just wait and see what happens when you start playing the Wii.

Really, so much fun

Once you have purchased your Wii console and have your game set up get ready to have some fun. Really, you won't believe how much fun you can have. We play the Wii when the grandchildren come over and we play the Wii when it is just the two of us.

It is great to get off the couch and move. The Wii sports game came with our bundle and it provides hours of entertainment. The games included on this video are tennis, baseball, bowling, golf and boxing. My favorite is the bowling but no matter which one you like it is great exercise and very competitive. I haven't bowled a 300 yet but I am working on it.

There is also a game called Wii Fit Plus. This is great for those of you that don't like to exercise. This game keeps tabs on your weight, your balance and how you have scored previously. It includes training games, yoga, strength training, aerobics and balancing. Those of you who love to hunt...well, there are games for you too. Cabela's Big Game Hunter is just one of them. You can hunt elk, bear, mountain lion or rams. This game comes with a gun that you put your remote in so that it feels like you are really out there hunting.

Fun playing the Wi

DANCE, DANCE, DANCE!

If so, what is your favorite game?
