Toopy and Binoo Plush Doll
Toopy and Binoo Plush Doll

A funny mouse and a white cat.

Meet Toopy, a mouse with a wild imagination. He makes all kind of play and games to entertain his plush cat friend.

Binoo is the favorite of my son. He doesn't speak, but that doesn't mean he is passive. In fact, you will soon find that he is often ahead of is friend Toopy. He just loves to let him have all the credit!

Who are They?

I watched most episodes.....DOZENS of time because my son can't get enough of it. I just realized, very recently, after hours and hours of watching those that Binoo is in fact Toopy's imaginary friend....it's his plush toy! My son is much brighter than I am: "but mom, look, Binoo has stitches on his belly and he is smaller than his friend!!"

Toopy and Binoo - Big Parade
Toopy and Binoo - Big Parade

DVD, 54 minutes. Includes the following episodes:

-Big Parade, Worm Circus, Sock Puppet, Strange New World, Gone Fishin', Water Wings, Duckling, The Three Bears, Treasure Hunt, Invisible Dog, Godmother Toopy, Recess

My Son's Favorite Toopy and Binoo DVD: Big Parade

This is my son's favorite DVD mostly because of the first episode "Big Parade". Toopy and Binoo with the help of a magic flute, organize a big parade made out of everything in their room: socks, bed, toys, shoes. As well of everything they find along their path: clouds, hose, flowers....This huge parade ends up in a big pile of stuff on the floor and this make's my son laugh so much. The flute music in this episode is fun and entertaining and kids react well to it. One of the best Toopy and Binoo episode.

Video In The Original French Version: Toupie et Binou - Watch them in French

Toupie et Binou is the original title of the books on which Toopy and Binoo animations are based. These books are written by French-Canadian author Dominique Jolin. She published her first Toupie et Binou story in 1996 and her books became an instant success. Teachers started using these to teach kids how to read. The books were translated in English as "Washington and Deecee".

Spectra animation bought the production rights and turn our friendly mouse and cat into a nice franchise. They renamed both characters Toopy and Binoo.

French-Canadian comedian Marc Labreche is the voice actor behind Toupie in the french version.

BINOU EN COULEURS
BINOU EN COULEURS

This used to be my son's favorite book when he was little. He would react a lot to the page where Binoo disappear and then reappear. I was just to fun to watch him being relieved upon seeing that Binoo was not gone after all.

@anonymous: If you know a decent bakery/pastry shop you may want to check if they do custom order. Many do! Provide them a few images and tell them what you would like. It can be as simple as tracing Toopy and Binoo characters on the cake and adding the colored icing...or more complicated with little fondant characters (like the Toopy and Binoo cake I am showcasing on this page).

If all fails and you cannot find a shop to make it for you, why not use edible inks and Kopykake Frosting Sheets? You need a printer. You just place the edible sheet on top of the cake! Or make a basic cake, frost it and then trace the design yourself (you can use a Toopy and Binoo coloring page as a template).

      Good luck!
