Pets of all kinds have shared Yvonne's life. They seem to find her when they are in need and she helps them find their forever home.

Animals Have Many Amazing Abilities and Talents

As we grow older we are constantly amazed with the special talents and abilities of animals, both domesticated and wild. The videos that we have collected here just show a few of the remarkable gifts that animals possess. We have many animal friends in our pack and are rewarded each day for the kindness we show them. As Dr. Doolittle said, "If we could talk to the animals, learn their languages, Think of all the things we could discuss" and how much better off we would be.

We hope you enjoy these videos and maybe, after seeing them, will look at animals in a different light.

What Special Gifts Do These "Dumb" Animals Possess?

Elephant Artists

Through the centuries, many cultures have revered elephants for their intelligence and wisdom. They are believed to be as intelligent as hominids. Legends of the "Elephant Graveyard" may not be far from the truth because Elephants have been seen handling and "mourning" over Elephant bones.

The Elephants in the videos below were once mistreated, but were rescued from abusive treatment in Burma. These elephants now paint amazing and expressive works of art.

Would you like to talk to the animals?

"An animal's eyes have the power to speak a great language."Martin Buber

"If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans."James Herriot, English Veterinarian and Author

If We Could Talk to the Animals Lyrics

Dr. Doolittle

If we could talk to the animals, just imagine it

Chatting to a chimp in chimpanzee

Imagine talking to a tiger, chatting to a cheetah

What a neat achievement that would be.

If we could talk to the animals, learn their languages

Maybe take an animal degree.

We'd study elephant and eagle, buffalo and beagle,

Alligator, guinea pig, and flea.

We would converse in polar bear and python,

And we could curse in fluent kangaroo.

If people asked us, can you speak in rhinoceros,

We'd say, "Of courserous, can't you?"

If we could talk to the animals, learn their languages

Think of all the things we could discuss

If we could walk with the animals, talk with the animals,

Grunt and squeak and squawk with the animals,

And they could squeak and squawk and speak and talk to us.

The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be measured by the way its animals are treated.
