Futility of wars

Updated on February 5, 2015

Nobody Wins

Nobody Wins
Nobody Wins

young men at war

young soldier.
young soldier.

Tiny word. Enormous consequences

 WAR !

What a tiny word. Three letters only.

WAR !

What gigantic amounts of chaos are caused.

WAR !

That one little word contains so much hate.!

HATE !

Hate the enemy.

How else could they do it?

Young men, not aggressive,

Not criminals,

Not cruel.

Simply young men.

our young men

our young men
our young men

WAR !

What a useless happening.

Young men sent away.,

Sent to be part of this useless happening!

Useless killing! Nobody wins.

WAR!

How self-deluding are the instigators?,

How self-righteous are those who plot the strategies?

And they themselves see nothing of the battlefield.?

WAR !

When will it end , if ever?

No-one wins.

No-one wins.

No-one wins.!!

l could´n´t agree with you more. We´ve only found more efficient ways of killing eachother.

    Thank you for the comment.

Man kind(?) still has much to learn. Old men send young men to war so the huge multi-nationals can make even more money.

We humans are not civilized. All we have done is learn to kill more efficiently. Very sad.

wonderfully worded, Jess. I quite like the idea of politicians having mass hallucinations.... you know the type where they think they can fly and collectively step off a skyscraper.....

War is mass hallucination mainly among politicians wherein people do what is wrong and think it is right. Thank you so much for writing this.

I dream of peace, someday, here, and the sooner the better! No-one ever wins at war, the victors today will be the losers tomorrow, always.

Thanks so much for sharing this moving piece on the futility of war.

    Love and peace

..the Fugs had a song from the 60's called Kill for Peace - nice irony in that one!

.....futility in wars - three words as answered by four of mine - does man ever learn?

...and one of my favorite songs by Pete Seeger - Where have all the flowers gone?

...although I always get a peaceful vibe from your hubs .....

Nobody wins ever. You sent a powerful message in just a few words of poetry and one of these days soon, the message will ring stronger and truer than any weapon.

Dim you are so right!!! No one wins. Young men sent into the battlefield only to come back changed souls if they come back at all. I can only imagone how many of them sit and wonder 'what are we doing here?' Very profound Hub. Thank you Dim!! xxxxxxx

Thank you micky. I was thinking of you when I wrote it.You are one of the winners, because you now believe in The Golden Rule and all you can to practise it.

    Thank for reading. x

Nobody wins. Men will have to check their pride and anger at the door eventually. We need to evolve. We cannot remain uncivilized. Thank you Dim. This is very beautiful.
