WOW 1996 The First Year of the WOW CD'S

Updated on May 3, 2015

First - With the WOW music it is actually based on the prior year's music. These hist were from the year 1995.

Second - Yes world I actually own this one. Not sure how I got my hands on it, but who am I to argue with great music.

There are a few reasons that I have enjoyed getting the WOW CD's.

1) We are looking at 30 songs. Now-a-days most CD's only have about 10 - 12 pieces of music. This one has at least twice that number.

2) Time to listen. Its nice to put in music and not have to worry about changing it for some time. I mean there is a three disk player attached to the radio so two of the three are from this alone. And I admit I have a five disk changer attached to one of my computers. That's two years of WOW and then set it on shuffle....

3) Variety, also looked at as various artists. That's right each song is by a different artist. The genre is the same but their styles are different. I am not sure about you in this case. But listening to music this way, helps me to the different artist and their styles. Pulling a sampler so to speak helps me to find new artist that I might like. In fact this one helped open me up to the Newsboys. And yes I actually have a couple of their other albums and have seen them in concert - twice.

There are thirty songs and only room for a few videos. So I picked my top five to share with you.

Disk 1

Track # 3 - Steven Curtis Chapman - Heaven in the Real World

Track # 10 - Margaret Becker - Deep Calling Deep

Disk 2

Track # 4 - Take 6 - Biggest Part of Me

Track # 10 - Newsboys - Shine

Track # 11 -  Carman - Step Of Faith

Steven Curtis Chapman - Heaven in the Real World

Margaret Becker - Deep Calling deep

Take 6 - The Biggest Part of Me

Newsboys - Shine

One artist I was happy to find on this first WOW album was Carmen. He was my first Christian artist to see in concert. And to actually meet after that show. I don't think that the security was to happy with me though. I wished to share the news that three of my friends had accepted the Lord that day. And I would have been happy to have gotten thrown off stage. (Luckily I wasn't, just asked to step down.)

Carman - Step of Faith

Wow a few more years of WOW in the 90's.

For these albums I have chosen only one song per year. There are many songs that I have enjoyed. But I have chose only one from my top 5 list for you to enjoy from each of these year.

(And yes I also have the 1999 WOW CD and working on the others.)

Phillips, Craig and Dean - Mercy Came Running Disk: 2 Song: 10

Petra - We Need Jesus Disk: 1 Song: 14

Veggie Tales Silly Song His Cheeseburger Disk:1 Song: 15

Do you enjoy having CD's with various Artists?

See results

You don't have to sing a note but if you would be so kind as to leave one it would be greatly appreciated.

First sorry it took so long for the RSVP. Second I am envious of your sister. Third even if I don't own the WOW CD's for a particular year I will seek them out and borrow from a friend. Even the older ones are worth listen to. As you can tell by me taking the time for this review.

One of the reasons I like WOW Hits is that it introduces music to me that I may not have heard. I have found so many new artists that I like from their CD's. Carmen is one I really like too. My sister was blessed to sing in his choir at some of his concerts on the East Coast. Hope people are remembering to keep him in prayer for his healing.

@ideadesigns OK so thrown off may be a bit much. I was asked by a couple of the security. Granted it wasn't a forced removal. I am still surprised that it was so easy to get on the stage. And yes there could easily be a story in there somewhere.

@ideadesigns As you can tell so do I. And I have seen Carmen in concert and was able to meat him and shake his hand. I was then thrown off the stage by security.

@RonElFran I have at least five of the WOW CD's. Depending on what you are playing the music on there is a good change that it will tell you what album it came from. I hope that this helps. And in the mean time enjoy your music. I know I do.

I have one of the WOW CD sets, but since I copied all of the tracks to mp3 on my computer, I no longer remember which year it was. In any case, it's great music.
