Throw that Bulky Nursing Cover in the Trash!

It's no surprise that Mothers have the best ideas when it comes to baby products. So when I had the opportunity to try a product dreamed up by a Mother who was tired of the confinements of using a bulky, impersonal nursing cover. She recognized the importance of bonding with your baby during feeding, and the importance of eye contact. What she came up with was the BabyBond Nursing Cover. The BabyBond nursing cover comes in 3 designs and a variety of colors. Each design has the same function, keep the mothers' anatomy covered and the baby's face in complete view in order to bond, and have uninterrupted eye contact. The style I tried was the Flex, and while I'm sure everyone has their own reasons for liking this product, these are mine:

  • Slurp to Burp: A major benefit is the fact that on the shoulder of this is a slot to place the burp cloth (which is ultra soft like a lamb) and hold it in place. The burp cloth comes with the BabyBond. When you’re through using it, you pack it all back into the cute little stretchy pouch in matching color it comes in that’s about the size of a small closed umbrella, ella, ella, hey, hey, hey…….. I mean seriously, they thought of everything.
  • Boobie Sweat and Your Baby's Face: I have 3 boys, from 10 to 13, who are involved in sports pretty much all year around. Covering my baby in summer months in order to breast feed is not a good time because it just gets hot and uncomfortable for both myself and my baby. Let's face it, boobie sweat happens, especially when your bust line may be blissfully larger than pre-baby. Nobody really cares for boobie sweat, and I seriously doubt baby is comfortable with it on their face. Bless their little hearts. I love that with the baby bond, baby is not covered, she is still breathing fresh air and we are not sweating more than necessary.
  • Eye Contact: This is key for me when I’m feeding my baby. It’s a better bonding experience when you can see your child’s face while they are nursing. It’s one of the things that actually makes nursing bearable being able to look at their little faces. In addition to this, it also gives fathers the opportunity to bond with baby as well since his/her face is not covered.
  • Stays Put and No Bulk: Many traditional nursing covers are pretty much just a blanket, if you are outside, say at a little league game or at the park, or outdoor birthday party….and the wind is blowing just enough to keep your nursing cover on the move, it can be very annoying having to keep placing it back. With the BabyBond, you don’t have to worry about that. It comes in several sizes made to fit your body just perfectly, not draping your body or baggy. It stays put from the time you put it on until you take it off.
  • Smells like Mom Spirit: Does Dad like to feed? I found that when I placed this baby bond sash on my fiance, my daughter was much more calm and receptive to his feeding her. She is very much a momma’s girl, and so sometimes, she would rather me feed her than him. I wondered if he wore it with the mom scent on it if it would make any difference, and I was excited to learn that my theory was scientifically proven correct. Sometimes Dad’s just need a little help ya know.
