Best Green Teething Products of 2012

Updated on June 13, 2012

Teething is a part of every baby's life and it can be pretty stressful for both you and baby. Now that we know how many chemicals are in the average commercial teething product, like phthalate and BPA, most people refuse to give their children these harmful products. So what do you do when your baby starts to teeth if you can't give them normal teething toys. Green teething products are the answer.

There are many different kinds of teething products out there. There are teething jewelry that is worn by mom and chewed on by baby. I love these because they are beautiful accessories, they offer baby a distraction when they are nursing or just being a cranky butt in your arms as well as the main purpose, for teething. You can get them in a variety of colors as well as styles. You can get a pendant, chewbeads necklace, bracelet, or amber teething necklaces.

Wooden teething toys come in a variety of shapes, sizes and types of wood. Wooden teething rings can be nice and very natural however, be careful that some of them are very thick and hard for baby's to chew on. There are also wooden keys or shaped toys that can be fun for the little one to play with even if they aren't interested in chewing on them.

There are also cloth teething toys. Some are shaped like hearts or whatnot while others are just organic cloth the you wet and freeze. There are downsides to this though, most of the cloth teething products are very overpriced and buying an organic cloth washcloth would be essentially the same thing and a heck of a lot cheaper.

There are also some more expensive but more entertaining toys like Vulli Sophie the Giraffe Teether. These are a big hit and my daughter loves this even now at 11 months old. It offers two uses as both a teether and as a fun toy as they get older.

I hope that you find the teething product that is right for your baby and good luck working your way through the teething times.
