Five Sisters Are We

There are five sisters in my family

Five sisters oh my

I know that they love me

And I'll always love them

No matter what changes may come our way

We seem to always be there for each other

What else can I say?

What else can I say about blood that we share?

We may look alike in so many ways

But the differences are there in just about everything we say

Everything we say may be a contradiction at times

But we have strong genes so its hard to give in

Its hard to give in when we are so damned sure we are right

It brings us to tears, man we cant even sleep at night

When there’s strife among sisters, life isn’t the same

I guess we just feel deep down all the pain

All the pain that we cause one another and sometimes never let up

We have all been guilty of it so lets own up

Its best to say I’m sorry and let the incident go

Its hard at times though when we feel we are right

This just causes more problems and we cannot see the light

The light I am speaking of is at that proverbial tunnel

Where everything is okay and help is on its way

Where there will be no more arguments, hurt feelings and fights

I have seen the tunnel at times in my life

I’m glad that its there for moments of strife

But surely we all have to look within

And give each other a break, because we all have sin

The sins of our fathers and mothers apparent

Get in the way of our thinking and pride

I guess what I am trying to say is that we are all different people

Five sisters five sisters what was God thinking

I guess it had to be that its what our family needed

Because my sisters are the glue that keeps us together

We may try to leave one another and stay out of their life

But the blood that runs through our veins will cut like a knife

And remind us that once and for all

We are stuck together for life and that is our call

There are four sisters

Then my sisters have me

Like it or don’t like it whatever you see

But as we get older we should put bad feelings aside

And be the best friends that God intended for us to be.
