How to increase breast milk production naturally.

Updated on May 29, 2014

Get milk !

Increase your breast milk producion, don't give up!

So the question is what do I do if I'm not producing enough milk?

This is a problem many nursing mothers find themselves facing. The baby is ravishingly hungry. You’re nursing but he's not getting his belly full. What to do?

I have a few answers for you from my experience that will work.

First thing first, relax take a deep breathe and know that you are doing the right thing. Be resolved to stick this out and you will be victorious. You can provide enough milk for your babies needs. Breast feeding is a hugely rewarding system. You can achieve your goals and be able to hold onto these precious moments for life.

Forget about a feeding schedule! Nurse your baby every time he seems even slightly interested. Let him use you as his pacifier. Sleep nursing, eat nursing and breathe nursing! The more often you breastfeed the better, it sends a signal to your body to produce more milk for your growing baby. Nursing him often is essential in producing more milk. Sometimes more is better!

OK so another trick is to make sure your drinking lots of clear liquids. Grab an over sized bottle of water and make it your constant companion. The fluids you drink give your body the hydration it needs to make more milk. Hydration is so important so make this a priority for your baby.

The next is a little miracle that is called Brewers Yeast. This natural yeast is awesome. It can give you the ability to be Wonder Woman of the nursing world. Really I have had so much success with this substance. Brewers Yeast is a powder that's made up of b-complex vitamins, chromium, and selenium. It comes in tablet, liquid and powder form. I’ve had more luck with the powder form. So this is what I recommend. It's not the best tasting stuff but it works. Add about two tablespoons to a glass of juice or water at least two times a day to begin with. You will probably see results in as little as 24 hours maybe 48.You can find Brewer's Yeast at any health food store and most drug stores. This can quite possibly be the best six dollars you can invest into your nursing adventure. Plus this stuff is great for your energy levels and can aid in losing some unwanted baby pounds.

A combination of all these methods will get your babies milk needs met in no time. Just remember to keep your resolve. Continue to know your doing the best thing for your baby and yourself. Be the super, milk producing, mom that you already are!
