He's 3, and he knows everything!
When a 3 year old knows more than you.
I love spending every minute I can with my grandchild...I really do. However, there are times I have to either laugh (which I do) or spit pennies (my grandma's saying for getting irritated). The other day we were playing an educational game about the alphabet on the computer. I know the alphabet, been using it for years. But Dylan was playing, and came across the letter W. He said that is M for mommy. And I gently corrected him...because he is at the independent (I can do it myself) stage. I said, "no honey, that is a W". He looks at me like I am the least intelligent creature in the universe, and says" You're wrong". At this point, I am still willing to be the better person, and tell him that I have known the alphabet for a long time, and it 'is' a W. He says, "nope". Well, now I am getting a bit to the spitting pennies point. And I turn into a person I am not proud of. I start arguing...with a small child.
What is it about a 3 year old telling you are wrong that can entice a grown educated person to resort to "You don't know what you're talking about. I have college experience, I made it through High School. I read and write very well, I KNOW what a W is. You're only 3, you don't know everything yet!" To which he responds, "yea I do". Yes, he did, and at that point I realized that maybe arguing with him is a bad idea.
