Hope and Inspiration from Mike Segal

Updated on March 9, 2010

Mike Segal doesn't want to be perceived as handicapped, disabled, limited or even as a hero. He has overcome impossible odds after being shot in the head and left for dead. With incredible strength and resolve, he eventually not only regained speech and mobility, he also went back and graduated from college and graduate school. Mike wants to be known as an individual who is concerned and dedicated to family, children, community, education and independence for all people. Today he works as a social worker and motivational speaker and has been featured in numerous Chicken Soup for the Soul books...

Some people are always grumbling that roses have thorns. I am thankful that thorns have roses...
