Putting on a show... LOL

As a mother of a highly creative four year old daughter I am constantly having to come up with new ideas to keep her entertained. I'm sure I'm not the only parent out there with this problem, therefore I have decided to come up with a daily calendar of creative things to do.

Yes I'm sure most of you are saying "We have already tried that." Okay, what if the calendar was actually made by your child? I took some construction paper, finger paints, and a black marker and my daughter made hand prints on the paper, once they dried I wrote the day of the week under the hand print and on it I wrote the activity we would be doing for that day.

Let's start with Monday. We are going to build "Sock Puppets" and a theater out of an old cardboard box. Then we can put on a show.

Tuesday, we can make jewelery from "Pipe Cleaners and Buttons" this is always a cheap and easy activity. Pipe cleaners can be found just about anywhere that sells craft supplies. and buttons are easy to salvage off old clothes that you might be throwing away.

Wednesday, remember those clothes I was talking about you throwing away well don't see the great thing about all kids boy or girl they all love to play dress up. Got a pretty shirt in that pile put it on your little girl and take a piece of yarn or ribbon and make it into a princess dress or take something that has some holes in it and make your son a zombie. This works great for Halloween also. why go out and spend a fortune on costumes when you can make it out of stuff you already have?

Thursday, get ready for a Broadway performance like no other. Grab the lamps for your spotlights, you can make a microphone out of just about anything best thing I have ever found is a hair brush, create a music play list for your child to sing and dance to, you can even grab some yellow construction paper and cut out some stars to hang. Now grab your video camera and watch the magic.

Friday, it's time to get cooking and when I say cooking I mean safely and no where near a hot stove until we get more comfortable with everything. This week we are going to make shape sandwiches some of which will be peanut butter, honey, banana and raisen. The other half will be turkey and cheese with a side of fresh broccoli, cucumbers and carrots with ranch dressing to dip it in.

Saturday, is all about the weekend and being outside and having fun and that's just what we are going to do. It's summer time and that means it's time to build a kite and a lemonade stand. What better way to teach your kids how to make their own lemonade and so them how to earn a little toy money at the same time.

Sunday, well this day is meant to kick back relax and enjoy. grab a good book and just read to your kids they will enjoy that most of all.
