Let Them See

Updated on December 23, 2011

Parents are role models

So powerful, this little bundle! From the moment you hold a baby in your arms for the first time, your life will change. What a blessing to hold that perfectly formed miniature hand and know that if you play your cards right, it will someday hold yours to soften the cares of old age. Their helplessness and dependence will inspire you to grow in grace. For the first time you will come face to face with your own strengths and weaknesses.

We owe them a debt of gratitude for kisses on our cheeks and warm little arms around our neck. It is our duty to nurture these little ones into a healthy and happy adulthood. The best gift we can give to them is and example of 'how to live'. Let them see first hand a life structured in moral principles.

Let Them See

Let them see you climb a hill

Let them see you pay your bills

Let them see you dry a tear

Let them see you calm a fear

Let them see your faith alive

Let them see you give a tithe

Let them see your heart forgive

Let them see how one should live.

What a lovely hub, even though a child is born after us we can learn so much from them. They teach us patience, to not give up and to want to do better.

Iloved your hub and I will take as the best parent advice: transparency and communication.

My babies are growing up and still, when i look at them, my heart fills with love and joy to have them in my life. I guess we can always Let them see no matter what age!

These verses are not only poetic, but excellent advice. Too many parents want to shield their children from the world and real life. I was given a book as part of a package when I left the hospital with my bundle 39 years ago. The book dealt with telling your child the truth even if its ugly. Kids are more resilient that you think don't let that cute exterior fool you.

What you don't want is a child growing up in a bubble and once it bursts in adulthood they can't cope. Children must learn that every one in the world will not love and except them like their parents.

Excellent hub, interesting subject matter. Thank you for sharing, voted up, marked useful and interesting.

      Morning Ann.

The truth is Ann i spend my time at my laptop shortly after i get up untill about 19:00 20:00 each evening that's 7 or 8 O'Clock at night of course with little breaks in between. But in all it's about 8 hours reading and commenting or trying to start a new hub.

There are so many new hubs each day and i receive around 100 announcements each day which i try to look at each one and if it's interesting for me i write a comment if not i go to the next. So Ann i'm here each and every day if you need to have a chat.

Take care Ann and let the party begin.

      LOL Ghaelach

      Hi Ann.

      Lovely little hub.

Babys do a replay on what they see or hear so it's only right to get it right the first time, unfortunately that doesn't always happen.

      Take care Ann.
