Request for an early eulogy

Updated on April 14, 2015

It seems to be my history that people only tell me good things way after the fact, long after it is of any value. Ex-boyfriends tell me “I really liked you”. My daughter, all grown up, told me “I thought you were the prettiest Mom in the world.”

When I die, I don’t want a funeral or memorial service – that is just a lot of expense for people who don’t want to be there anyway. Everyone has already said goodbye to me, and certainly I will be busy elsewhere and not caring what should occur on earth as we know it.

Instead, I’d like the eulogy now. I’d like to know that my friends and family have good memories of me, that they like me, and that they’d miss me. Please take the time while I am alive, alone and desperate for a reason to live. Let me know if I did things you will always remember. Let me know if I made an imprint in your life. Let me know if you carry on any practices I instituted. Let me know my time in this world was not a waste of space.
