Should We Stay or Should We Go, Now?
Weddings, bridal parties, funerals, birthdays, graduations, bachelorette parties, reunions, anniversaries, retirements, holidays, parties, religious celebrations, traditions, hospital visits, returns home from deployment, births….these are just a few of the things that we have missed since we moved over 600 miles away from our family and friends.
Currently, we live fifteen minutes from the ocean; we have made some amazing friends; we have visited Fort Sumter, Fort Moultrie, Boone Hall Plantation, Charleston Pinckney National Historic Site, the Charleston Museum, the Children’s Museum of the Low Country, numerous county parks and events, amazing churches, the South Carolina Aquarium, have taken picturesque walks down East Bay Street, and around the Battery in downtown Charleston, as well as experienced one of the top ten light shows in America in James Island, and took Utopian style walks through amazing gardens.
We vacillate between what is best for our family here and our extended family there. It is a constant struggle going on in our minds during this period of recession. We can’t afford to live here, and we can’t afford to live there without guaranteed jobs.
I know that my parents are missing out on watching their only grandchild grow up, but I have an amazing job that I love here.
God has plans for all of us, and sometimes we don’t understand the big picture, but I just miss my family! So, the question still is……Should we stay or should we go, now?
