Shower Time
Kids bring out the children in us all. Whilst sharing the shower with my two year old boy I found myself singing nonsense to him. So I thought I would try and collect my thoughts into a more meaningful poem which I hope you enjoy.
Shower Time
Carry you upstairs to your room.
Making car noises
broom broom broom
Strip you down to your nappy.
You run like a mad thing
loud and happy.
Turn on the shower with a whoosh.
put down the rubber mat
Sploosh sploosh sploosh
off with your nappy
and into the shower
toys on the glass
you could play for hours
Here comes the shampoo
Watch your eyes
Such a good boy
He never cries
Wash your head
your arms and legs
your front and back
and all your bits
back to the glass
the shower toys.
I Turn off the shower
There is no noise
I dry you down
and you take off
You run around the house
laughing a lot
Wrapped in a towel
you run to mummy
for clothes and kisses
this life we have
beyond my wishes
I love my boy
and I love my missus
