Tale-Tell Signs a New Mom Needs A Break
Do you have children? How can you tell when or if Mom needs a break? I can assure you that at some point, every mother needs some time away. Having a few hours alone can truly make a big difference in Mom’s attitude and countenance. If you notice any of the following, you can be sure that the Mom you know needs a break.
Sign #1: Mom talks to herself…a lot.
Every mom talks to herself from time to time. That’s natural. But if you’ve noticed her holding entire conversations alone, then it’s probably time for you to jump in and give Mom a break for a bit.
Sign #2: Mom slams the door or throws the keys.
When she starts throwing things or slamming doors, you’d probably better look out. That usually means Mom is on the rampage about something. This could be the perfect time for you to suggest she get away for a little while to regroup.
Sign #3: Mom cries frequently.
A large majority of moms—and women in general—are emotional and cry. However, if you’ve noticed her crying way more than normal, or crying over tiny things that don’t really matter, or saying she doesn’t know why she’s crying…you’d better make sure she slows down.
Sign #4: Mom sighs a lot.
Sighing is a huge sign of a problem. When a person sighs often, it is usually because they feel very overwhelmed. If you’ve noticed Mom sighing a lot lately, find out what is eating at her. Hire a baby sitter or offer to watch the kids while she has an evening out with her girlfriends.
Sign #5: Mom tells you she needs a break.
Finally, if she ever flat out tells you she needs a break, then by all means, give her a break! She’s not telling you this for fun. She’s serious. So give her a break already!
