The Happy Snowman

Updated on November 25, 2009

The Happy Snowman

Wondering what he would like the most

Winter day or going to the coast.

Thinking he'd rather be warm as toast.

Off to the beach he will go.

How can a snowman go traveling?

Made of snow he started a'melting.

Heat and sun know that he's weakening

Now letting him easily go.

Thinking of summer weather now

Packed and he's wondering how.

An ice cream truck will take me I vow!

Off to the beach he's in tow.

He went along just fine on the interstate.

It was dark and then it was getting late.

Seeing the beach he jumped off the tailgate.

"A suntan for me this I know!"

At waters edge waiting for morning

A sea gull came by and gave him a warning.

At sunrise the rays started warming

But he was a dumb so and so.

The sea gulls words he knew now was right.

He had a plan, he knew he was bright.

Recycling he thought, would end his plight

To evaporate and come back as snow.

(And that was a fine way to go)

**** The End ****

      Loved this poem Moneylady too.

It's very obvious now to see,

      that you like writing poems

      just like me.

I thought I might have another go, and write more poems about what yet, I just don't know? BB

      Poignant word to the wise...

We should learn to listen and consider what we hear, shouldn't we?
