The Laughing Bug

Updated on January 2, 2010

~*~ The Laughing Bug ~*~

I can’t go to school today

Mom says I must stay home

The Laughing Bug just got me

He attacked my funny bone!

It started with a tickle

And then a he-he-he

And then before I knew it

That bug got hold of me!

I snickered first and then I grinned

And then I laughed out loud

That Laughing Bug has got me!

He must be very proud

My laughing just got louder

I laughed for most the day

I was laughing loud and long

When Johnny came to play

Well, Johnny saw me laughing

My laughing made him grin

And then he started laughing too

I’d passed it on to him!

That Laughing Bug has got us

And Mom said, "Get outside!"

We thought that was SO funny!

We laughed until we cried!

So out we run into the yard

Then we ran down the street

We think we’ll pass that Laughing Bug

To everyone we meet!

The Laughing Bug keeps passing

From one person to another

The only one it hasn’t got

I know is just my mother

Mom said she couldn’t take it

That this was just no good

We’d better get some self control

Or we’d infect the neighborhood!

The Laughing Bug has hit our town

And this is just outrageous!

This could spread around the world

Cause laughing is contagious!
