WHAT WAS THAT NAME?

Updated on January 30, 2010

WHAT”S IN A NAME?

Years ago my friends sister, Carol Lee Thompson, married Mike Water. It was not a match made in Heaven, so the marriage soon ended.

When she started dating again, her new beau was David Faucett.

We teased her that if they got married she would become Carol Lee Thompson Water Faucett.

How fun names can be!

I now work for one of the largest travel agencies in the world and we make reservations for one of the largest government contracts in the world. Some of the names of our callers are priceless. Below are some real names of folks who have called in to make flight reservations.

I can tell you, when Donald Duke called in, it was hard to keep a straight face!

That one started my name collection. Some are cute, some are strange, some are the same as famous people.

Enjoy... Oh ... If you know of an unusual name add it to the comments.

Better yet, let's do a forum of really interesting names ... See ya there!

      What Fun Moneylady,

True story, I was up in Greensboro NC and a hand truck fell out of the back of the company pick-up but luckily it had an 800# for our firm. I got a message from one of the ladies in our office that someone called about it. Please understand that this is a true story. It said to call Nurlie Crotch @ (xxx0---. I thought they were messing with me but when I called the number the voice message said, Hi you have reached the Crotch residence, Nurlie and Bill are out at the moment. God has a great sense of humor, NEIL

Nice hub I used to work at a hotel and we got some funny names as well and it is hard to keep a straight face for sure the funniest one that we got was Anita Dick and we laughed about that one for days. My nephew is 1/4 Sioux indian and his name is Forrest Waters which since the Forrest Gump movie came out no one has ever been able to let that one go. Nice job.

I agree Quill ... The poor kids most of the time have it hard because kids can be hurtful. And I am sure there is a reason the parents name a child as they do ... It brings to mind the song 'A Boy Named Sue'.

What's in a name, well I always like to think a person. Yes there are some funny names but the persons I recall were teased relentlessly in school. But thise same children later grew up in life to be successful, extremely kind and loving.

Thats what I see in a name...
