Two-year-olds are a unique and interesting type of person. They are growing and learning at an impressive rate and boy do they do some strange things! This article covers some of the strange and funny things my daughter does on an almost daily basis. Every parent thinks their child is special and unique, which they are for the most part, but I believe every parent probably experiences these occurrences and can get a chuckle out of this.

Expressing Independence

My daughter is at the age of learning and trying new things. One of the most recent things she's started learning about is her own independence and she loves expressing it. She wants to do everything on her own and gets mad when she needs help with something. If the fridge won't open for her on the first try, she gets so angry. It's super cute to see her figure things out on her own.

Mountain Climbing

This little girl climbs on anything she can including the back of the couch, the ottoman, TV stands, the bed, the laundry basket, and anything else she can get her little hands on. I never know where I'm going to find her perched next. Her favorite spot right now is the back of the couch where she can kick me in the head.

Little Mime

Morgan loves to copy everything other people do, which is a good sign that her brain is learning. It leads to some very funny situations. She removes her diaper, sniffs her arm-pits, scratches her butt, and anything else you can think of. At least she hasn't started flipping the bird!

Nonsense Words

She loves making up new words and gets angry when we don't understand what she's saying. One of the cutest things she says is RAWR, which either means she wants to watch Dino Dana, a weird YouTube show involving dinosaurs, a "scary" movie, or a variety of other things. Bob-bob means she wants to watch a cartoon, but not Sponge Bob, anything but Sponge Bob. Car means cartoon as well, but mostly Monster Trucks or Ethan the Dump truck. She has other non-words that can mean anything as well. It's fascinating.

Uh-oh?

If I hear this, my mind always jumps to either a mess has been made or something is broken. Most of the time its the first. Sometimes she likes to take her diaper off, say "Uh-oh!" and then throws it at me. I've found out this means it's time for a diaper change. I wonder why!

Stone Noggin

This girl is made out of stone, I'm pretty sure. She likes to head-butt me and boy does that hurt! Of course she gets a lecture and stops for about 30 seconds. She has fallen and bumped her head and gets right back up and is completely fine. I don't understand how kids do it!

Stop Pantsing Me!

If she's trying to get my attention and I don't look at her immediately, she pulls my pants down. She knows what she's doing too, because it works every time. If I'm wearing jeans and a belt, she just grabs my back pockets and tugs as hard as she can. Luckily when that happens, my pants stay on.

That's Not Your Family!

Morgan is a social butterfly, and I have no idea where she gets that from. She will just walk up to another kid and try to play with them. I've caught her trying to blend into other families if they have a lot of kids. She won't follow them too far without looking for me though. I'm always right by her side, but at least I know she wouldn't go too far from me. I just constantly have to keep an eye on her, which is a given anyway since I'm her mother.

No, That's PaPaw

She's at an age where everybody outside of her immediate family (her father and brother) are a girl. She calls her grandfather Mamaw and I love the confused and amused face he makes when she does. Everyone around us usually gets a kick out of it as well.

Ew Color

She's in the process of learning her colors and she already has preferences. She knows blue and pink and I think she likes those, because she just calls green "ew color" and I get a good giggle every time. "What color is this?" "Ew color!" "No, baby, that's green."

Non-Picky Picky Eater

This little girl will eat anything and everything except for one that is the infamous "ew color": Broccoli. I've tried everything to get her to eat it, but she always knows. If she bites into a piece I've hidden in casserole or cheese, she spits it out and acts like I tried to poison her. She's too smart for her own good.

Why is Barbie Naked?

She loves dolls a lot, she especially loves taking their clothes off. I'm constantly stepping on or being handed a naked doll. It's something I do not understand, but to each their own I suppose.

You Spin Me Right Round, Baby

Morgan loves to spin around in circles. She enjoys getting dizzy and then falling down. This is super cute until she pulls me into the mix and she spins me around until I feel like throwing up. It's the best.

Pickle Fiend

A couple weeks ago, Morgan decided it would be a good idea to try to drink a full jar of pickle juice and got mad at me when I took it from her. She loves pickles more than any baby I've ever seen, and it's so bad for her. It's fine from time to time, but if she had her way, she'd be made out of pickles and their juice.

Thank you!

These are a few things that she does that keeps me on my toes. As a first time mom, I thought I would share my experiences. I hope you enjoyed and if you have any funny stories about your own kiddos, please leave them in the comments. Thank you for reading!
