Baby Wipe Warmers for Home or Travel
Warmer Wipes for a Happy Baby's Bottom
Baby wipe warmers? Now, don't laugh - this is a surprisingly clever idea for families living in cold-winter climates where it can be a challenge to keep a newborn warm and comfortable.
Babies naturally don't like cold wipes any more than you do, so no wonder they can tend to squeal and wiggle when it's time for diapering. (How would you like a cold wet cloth to be applied to your most tender parts?) Warm the baby wipes gently, and just see how more pleasant and efficient it can make a diaper change!
You'll find compact baby wipe warmers that fit nicely in your diaper bag, other models that plug into your car outlet for travelling (going to Grandma's for the holidays?), and there is even a warmer that's specially made to work with reusable cloth wipes for the eco-friendly nursery.
We're talking quite simply here about a heated baby wipe dispenser, made to create and maintain a warm moist heat for the wipes, so when you pull one out to clean Baby's delicate bottom he doesn't get that nasty shock of cold. That means less crying and squealing, less wiggling and resisting at diaper change time - and that means a happier Baby and Mom!
Most Popular Baby Wipes Warmer with Night Light - Warm Glow Wipe Warmer by Munchkin
This unit holds up to 100 wipes - regular or pop-up folded, whichever you prefer - but you'll probably find you don't want to keep that many in warming at one time, to prevent mildew problems. What I do like about the larger capacity is that there's plenty of space for reusable cloth wipes or baby facecloths, if you'd rather just use the disposables for travelling and/or for those truly astonishing diaper messes on a day when you just don't feel up to coping. A window on the front lets you see how well your stock of warm wipes is holding up, so it's easy enough to know when to go for a refill.
Prince Lionheart Baby Wipe Warmers
Rock solid popular brand name for baby gear, Prince Lionheart something is most likely already on your baby gift list, but check out this popular line for its wipe warmers, too. Different styles will suit different moms, so it all depends on the features you're looking for, but have a look first at these low-priced best-sellers especially if you're planning to go with the Pampers or Huggies type of disposable wipes instead of reusables.
This is the revised PL warmer design, with a different top opening and seal that does a better job than the original of keeping the wipes from drying out, and a white light that's bright enough to see what you're doing for the diaper change. The original model is still available, last time I checked, but apart from being a little bit cheaper it really doesn't have any advantages. My sister-in-law was given the old style of Prince Lionheart warmer for a shower gift and decided to return it to the store in exchange for this "premium" one, once she compared them.
Warmies Warmer for Reusable Cloth Wipes - Eco-Friendly and Budget-Friendly
Instead of sending a pile of wipes to the landfill day after day, worrying about dyes and chemicals on your baby's skin, or standing at the bathroom sink on a chilly night as you watch the water run down the drain until it warms up enough to warm the baby's washcloth... how much more convenient, eco-friendly, comforting and economical to have a stash of warm reusable wipes right by the changing table.
For use with reusable cloth wipes
Space Saver Wipe Warmer - Vertical Design with Timed Light
Upright wipe warmers are designed to take up less space on your changing table or nursery dresser, and this one comes with a changing light built right in so you don't have to snap on a bright light for those quick late-night changes. The light is a soft glow just enough to see what you're doing, and it's tmed to go off again after 10 minutes. Someone was really thinking here!

Travel Wipe Warmers - Great for Shopping, Visiting, Travel with Babies
I love this unit not just for travelling but also for just out running errands in the wintertime with the wee one. It's surprising how quickly the contents of a diaper bag can get chilled in cold weather, and moist items like packaged wipes can end up feeling like they were kept in the fridge! To me, it just makes such good sense to take the chill off by keeping them a small container about the size of the package you'd most likely keep in your diaper bag anyway.
