How do you feel when you've to part with your child for a few days?
For me, that would depend on the circumstances. If my children were going to visit grandma for a few days I would probably welcome a break, feeling confident that my childrend were in good hands. (my children are 7 and 9 years old) They actually haven't stayed apart from me for more than a day at a time and in the care of close relatives. (Grandparents)
However, as they grow older they may have opportunities to vacation with friends' families or other relatives. Maybe even a school field trip.... The thought of that feels me with anxiety. Honestly, my children haven't even experienced their first sleep over yet. Even if it's just a couple of blocks over, I wouldn't be able to sleep. I imagine that even as they become teenagers and young adults, my worries won't cease.
