If you found a baby in the garbage....
If you found a infant baby in a garbage, would you report, the baby to the police and go on your way......or would you check on the baby to see if has been placed with someone?
I would report it and wait with the baby until the authorities arrived and then I would go my way. I am way too "mature" :-) to undertake having another child. I have faith that the authorities would take care of the child and place it in foster care until it could be adopted.
Since I suffer from infertility, I would finally have a baby. I would take the baby to the hospital and report the incident to the proper authorities, but I would definitely keep the child it takes forever to adopt a baby.
I guess if this happened to me, I would go through all the proper avenues first - taking it to the hospital, calling the police - and if it needed a home, give it a loving home. Must be fate if something like that happens in your life, right?
Check. I would also consider adopting the child. However, my partner would not be happy. He wants his own children while I hate the idea of giving birth. Adopting seems so much easier and less of a hastle. I don't want to bring children into this world while there are so many others who won't have a family. It seems selfish to have my own.
I'd report it, make sure it was placed with someone who'd care for it PROPERLY, i.e. not back with its biological parent if that person could even be found, and check up on it periodically. Under my present circumstances, adoption is not an option, but I'd enjoy being the "aunt" who visits now and again. ;D
I have 6 of mine own & 2 step-kids. If I found an infant in the garbage I would call the authorities, go with to the hospital & make sure he/she was alright.
I would keep visiting & keep checking up on him/her and either make certain he/she was given to a good family or I would ask to keep the baby until a placement could be made.
Most likely, if I was allowed to bring him/her home I would convince my hubby that I found the child for a reason and we NEED to adopt the baby
(I love kids!)
I often ponder on this question. I envision a baby being left on my front porch . Trash can or front porch, I would alert local authorizes stay with the child while it's being treated in the hospital . I would also adopt the child.
What I would WANT to do would be to take it home and keep it. What I WOULD do would be to report it, and stick as close to it as possible and hope that I could adopt it.
That's a good answer...I think most people would like to do the same....
A hundred years ago it would have been much easier. I could just take it in and raise it with my own. Today though, there would be a lot of rules to follow to be allowed to keep it.
