Is there a way of making Velcro sticky again?

   Is there a way of making Velcro sticky again?
   
   I have recently washed an infant's swaddle-wrap without first closing the Velcro fasteners.  Since then, the good old hook and loop closures have failed to contain my child in a good swaddle.  After a few minutes, he rips through the wrap like the Incredible Hulk.  Is there any way to restore the original stickiness of the wrap?

   If the velcro is damaged from the heat of the dryr than you might be better off just replacing the velcro. They sell the strips at any craft store.

   Is the hook side clogged with other fibers from going through the laundry without being closed?  If so and if you have the patience for it, pick out the random fibers that have stuck to the hook side and it should work again.  I had a velcro closure on a winter jacket that kept pulling fibers from a scarf I wore until it wasn't "sticky" again.   But I just kept pulling out the scarf fibers whenever I remembered, and it worked after a while.
