What most helped your teething baby and why?
Do yo have any stories or trick for mothers and father currently dealing with a teething baby?
For my baby, several things helped. Baby ice pops were great (look for the molds online or at baby stores). They are great because you can put water, juice, or whatever you want in them.
Crunchy things seemed to help as well. Baby cookies or crackers were great.
The best thing for night time teething pain though was tylenol. Giving him the reccomended dose about 20 minutes before bed time helped him to be comfortable and relax long enough to fall asleep.
I would not reccomend the numbing teething gel. It can numb the back of their throats in addition to their gums. You have to be careful that it doesn't cause them problems.
i used to give carrots and starfruit to my toddler. They get to gnaw and taste real vege and fruits. Better than the teething rubber stuff.
All three of my kids preferred different things when teething but for the most part what worked for us was baby facecloths (the little square terry cloth ones) soaked in cold water (boiled, filtered), or water filled teethers we put in the fridge. Most of my kids liked to gnaw on their fingers regardless of what I gave them!

I have heard and read about the method of letting childen cry themselves to sleep. I understand that it's not going to hurt the child and there's a process by which you gradually let them go longer in between visits to their room, and eventually they fall asleep on their own. Yet I can't bring...
