2016 Best Gifts and Toys for 1 Year Old Boy
The Best Presents and Toys for One-Year-Old Boys
The absolute best gifts for a one-year-old boy for are all here, complete with product reviews. All are 100% kid-approved (or rather, 100% approved by my son, Jack!). It's so hard to find gifts and toys for one-year-old boys that are fun, educational, and—most of all—safe (this was always my biggest concern!). It's always a bonus, too, if you can find a gift that the little guy can grow up and into.
This comprehensive guide, perfect for Christmas and birthdays, contains all the best toys for one-year-old boys. They aren't quite old enough to make their own wish list, but these gifts are guaranteed to delight! I always love seeing the smile on my little guy's face when he plays with the items below.
Awesome 4-in-1 Stroller and Tricycle
This stroller-tricycle hybrid is a wonderful idea for a young child. I am a big fan of products that can be used for more than just a few months, and this gift for your one-year-old boy will last for years.
See the handle? It actually can lock in place underneath the trike so your little guy can climb on it and rock: it's stationary in this position.
Then, as he gets older the handle pops up to what you see in the pic. Mom or Dad can push the toddler while he either puts his feet on the pedals or leaves them on the stationary pedals (it took my son a few months to get used to the actual pedals, so the stationary ones are great!).
Lastly, it turns into a full-on trike that he will love riding. This is such a fun toy that he can use up until age five!
Super Cute Bouncy Cow for Christmas
How cute is this rubber bouncy cow? It's one of those toys that you actually don't mind keeping out in the open, because it's both adorable and interesting! It also comes in a few other colors, too, if black and white is too traditional for you.
You'll need a pump to blow him up. You can buy a new one, or, like I did, you can use an air-mattress pump.
He'll love bouncing on this toy. You may even notice he naps and sleeps better at night because of it (*wink!*).
Cute Wonderworld Caterpillar Is Several Gifts in One
I can't begin to tell you how cute this rocking caterpillar is. I hate to keep it in the corner of his room. We bought this for our son when he was about nine months old, and he's still using it now at almost eighteen months. It's an adorable rocker that can be removed from its base and made into a soft toy. It's perfect for lounging. My son loves to cuddle and roll around with it. How cute will this look in his room (or even in your family room)?
So You're Buying a Toy for a One-Year-Old Boy...
Who are you buying for?
Classic Little Tikes Baseball Set
We are lucky to live in a warm climate year-round, but even if you are buying this for Christmas and it's cold where you are, this is an awesome gift to give. It's super-affordable, too. When we first got this, admittedly, my one-year-old son was not very coordinated when it came to swinging a baseball bat. But that was okay, since either myself or his Dad just threw the ball back and forth with him. Once he was interested in swinging we let him have at it. He loved it, and still does to this day. It's actually pretty durable for a plastic set and can stand the rough-and-tumble ways of young boys.
A Toy That Will Hold Your One-Year-Old's Attention
This is a very highly-rated toy that is sure to pique his curiosity. There are lights and sounds that he'll love, but he won't be able to resist launching his cars (his "Wheelies"—cars that fit perfectly in little hands) down the huge ramp at high speeds. I promise you, he won't be able to resist pushing that launch button at the top of this brightly-covered toy!
Even though we put the stickers on wrong (oops), my son loves this toy!
Scout: Cute Customizable Learning Toy for One-Year-Old Boys
I challenge you to find one little boy who doesn't love this toy. He'll sing songs, count, play animal sounds, and so much more. It really melts my heart when Scout says, "Will you give me a hug?" and "I love you!" It's cute to hear my son now repeat them back to him and give him kisses.
One thing my son particularly loves is the song that is all about his favorite things, which we programmed in using the USB cord that comes in the package. Scout sings, "I'd like A COW...that's my favorite animal. I'd like it to be BLUE...that's my favorite color. I'd like it to eat BANANAS...that's my favorite food. And I'll call it JACK...just like you." So cute!
Personalized Quiet Book for One-Year-Olds
This is the best book ever. Let me repeat: this is the BEST. BOOK. EVER. Why, you ask? Because not only is it personalized (and therefore, adorable), but it's a "quiet book." These fabric books are super-soft and perfect for quiet occasions like going out to dinner. Since it's soft, your one year old can't bang it on tables and cause a ruckus. It has fun activities inside. He'll learn to fasten a buckle, tie a shoe, etc., so it'll keep him occupied for more than just a few minutes.
Great Christmas Book for Mom and Son
I love books for children of any age, but reading to one-year-olds is especially crucial since you want to foster a love for learning. This book, in particular, is a sweet story that comes full circle. From a rowdy one year old to a grown man who eventually cares for his mother, this boy will capture your heart as much as he did mine.
A must-have for your child's library. It actually made me tear up.
Fun Airplane Toy for Little Hands
Lights, sounds, and sing-a-longs—it's everything a one-year-old boy could look for in a gift! The little people are the perfect size for holding! The handle on top makes it perfect for lifting for pretend flying, too!
We just went on our first plane ride and this toy has become my son's new favorite all over again!
