Not So Lazy Days: Farm adds water play to its playground
Field Trip
We've been to Johnson's Corner Farm in Medford many times before, and even once already this summer to pick blueberries, but tonight we went simply to play.
Besides being a typical pick-your-own farm with farm market and greenhouse, this farm has massive playground. It is so awesome, they actually charge admission just for the playground. We actually went tonight because admission is half-price Wednesday and Friday nights over the summer, bringing our total for three people to $8.13.
It has a variety of a equipment you can find all together anywhere else, and just last week they added a new attraction you can't find anywhere else in South Jersey-- a sprayground.
It's just a small area spraying water from various openings, but it's still the only one here. (I think the next closest is in Colts Neck.)
Looking at the kids playing in this fenced off area, you wouldn't think they think it's small. Some kids prepared and wear bathing suits, while others are fully clothed. All are soaked and don't want to leave, even when a cool breeze makes them shiver.
About the Not So Lazy Days series
I've challenged myself to find a new activity to do five days a week every week of the kids' summer vacation. Activities will fall under one of three categories: Arts & Crafts, Sports & Games or Field Trips. Follow me on Twitter @readallaboutsam for immediate updates on posts!
