Creamy Egg Custard Pie

My granny used to make this pie when I was a child. I loved eating her pies, especially this pie which was melt in your mouth kind of good. It is so good served with a dollup of whipped cream on the top.

Ready in: 30 min
Yields: Several servings


  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 frozen pie shells


  1. Beat the 4 eggs together in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the sugar to the eggs and mix well.
  3. Then add the milk slowly while continuing to mix.
  4. Then add the vanilla and the nutmeg and mix well.
  5. Pour into the two pie shells and bake at 375 degrees until the mixture sets (about 20-25 minutes).
