I live on a homestead in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Writing and reading are my passion.

The Fructose in Fruit

There have been conflicting reports of the risk of too much sugar in fruit. This is untrue as fruit does not only contain fructose, fruit also contain fiber which slows down the absorption of sugars in the body. The slow rate of absorption prevents a surge in blood sugar. Some fruits can therefore prevent the risk of type 2 diabetes and many other diseases. Grapes, apples and blueberries are some of the fruit that is beneficial to lower the risk of diabetes. Continual surges in blood sugar make the pancreas work harder and contribute to insulin resistance which increases the risk of type 2 diabetes.

Health Benefits of Smoothies

Mix your smoothies with plain yogurt. It gives smoothies the texture of milk shakes. To make smoothies, you need a blender, fruit, and either milk, yogurt or water. Smoothies supply your brain with all the vitamins and nutrients it needs for mental clarity. It will also strengthen your immune system. A strong immune system protects you from degenerative diseases. Fruits contain antioxidants that neutralize free radicals that have been linked to the development of tumors and other diseases.

The 'Ninja Master Prep' Blender

The ‘ninja master prep’ blender has a large 48 ounce pitcher and contains two jars. With its 400 watt power it is very fast and efficient. It takes only seconds to chop the ingredients. This blender is able to chop, dice, puree and mince. It also blends frozen fruit or vegetables.

One of the features that is very important in a blender is the wide spout. A separate lid is provided for each container so the mixture does not have to be transferred from one container to another. The three containers included with the ninja are different sizes which is handy when you might want to blend something for one person or for the whole family. This is an excellent blender which produces smoothies quick and efficiently. It is certainly a blender that I am glad to have as I make smoothies often.
