If you're looking for an idea for a comforting, down-home dinner for your family members or friends, you can't go wrong by preparing meatloaf for the main course. Meatloaf is one of the most popular comfort foods, reminding many people of childhood family dinners at their own homes or those of their extended family members.

There's no one "right" way to make meatloaf. As a matter of fact, there are many, many different ways to prepare this dish. If there isn't already a "favorite" meatloaf recipe in your family, consider experimenting with several different types of meatloaf recipes. If you do so, you're sure find at least one that's destined to become a favorite in your household.

2 Unique Meatloaf Recipes

Here are two interesting ways to prepare meatloaf that you may want to try in your quest to quest to find the perfect meatloaf dish for your family's recipe collection!

1. Cheesy Meatloaf Recipe

  • 2 pounds of ground round or ground sirloin
  • 1 cup of bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup of milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces of shredded mozzarella cheese

Preparation instructions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Place all ingredients except for the shredded mozzarella cheese into a large mixing bowl. Mix will, being certain that all of the ingredients are thoroughly combined. Place half of the meat mixture into a 9" x 5" meatloaf pan and press flat. Place mozzarella cheese on top of the meat mixture, spreading out evenly. Put the rest of the meat mixture on top of the cheese and spread evenly. Bake for one hour. Allow to rest for 10 minutes prior to cutting. Slice and serve.

2. Meat Loaf with Bacon


  • 2 pounds of ground round or ground sirloin
  • 1 cup of bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 slices of bacon

Preparation Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Place all ingredients except for the bacon in a large mixing bowl. Mix will, ensuring that all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Cut the bacon slices in half. Line the bottom of a 9" x 5" meatloaf pan with half of the bacon slices. Place the meat mixture in the pan. Bake for one hour. Allow to sit for 10 minutes prior to serving. Slice and serve.
